At Therapyside, we’re driven by the mission of providing high-quality psychological support and helping bring down the barriers that make it hard to access therapy. Through our platform, which lets therapy video sessions be held online, we’re a meeting point for therapists and patients who want to improve their emotional well-being.

In the sessions with your therapist, you’ll have total freedom to express yourself and be able to work on, for example, your emotional state, how you see yourself or the way you relate to your partner. Whatever the case, you’ll see that therapy is a safe place to connect with yourself, to take care of yourself and to grow.

What kind of therapy can I get at Therapyside?

At Therapyside, we have therapists who specialise in most topics addressed in therapy. To make it easier for you to find the practitioner who best suits your needs, we divide those topics into 8 areas of specialisation – depression, anxiety, couples, sex, self-esteem/personal development, social/family environment, work/school environment and grief – and 36 subareas.

When you fill out our initial form, you’ll be asked to choose the category you most identify with. But that doesn’t mean you have to fit into just one! It’s just a place to start. People are multifaceted, and the reasons that bring us to therapy can include all sorts of things. In other words, a person can identify with lots of areas.

When is Therapyside NOT right for me?

For some very serious mental health problems, we believe that a sort of in-person care that 100% ensures the physical safety of the patient is the best option.

We’re talking about cases of gender violence, suicide attempts, recent sexual assaults, elevated substance use or advanced eating disorders.

But, if you’re in that position, we don’t want to let you go without giving you some information first. That’s why were providing some telephone numbers and links that you might find helpful:

Every session with your therapist lasts 50 minutes.

First of all, congratulations for being brave and taking this important step! We’ll let you know when we’ve found the therapist who best suits your needs.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. None of Therapyside’s plans have rigid commitments, which means you can cancel your subscription whenever you like.

If you decide not to continue with your subscription, just keep in mind that you’ll have to let us know at least 24 hours before your plan ends, so that the system doesn’t renew it. In any event, you’ll be able to keep the sessions with your therapist that you’ve already scheduled.

How long does a therapy journey last?

There’s no set answer to that question. It depends on a lot of factors, such as the reasons that have brought you to therapy, the relationship you establish with your therapist, the goals you’ve set together, and other things. Every person is different, just like their circumstances.

That said, we can tell you that, on average, Therapyside users have a therapy journey of approximately 6 months.

If the length of the journey is something you’re worried about, you can take advantage of the first session to discuss your expectations with your therapist. Keep in mind though that therapy is not a race. Getting to the end is not the important thing. What is important is taking steps that will gradually help you feel better and improve your understanding of yourself.

We’re aware of how important it is to take care of mental health in the crucial timethat is adolescence so If you are over 14 years old, and you have the authorisation of your parents or guardians, you can start a therapy journey with Therapyside.

How much does individual therapy cost?

At Therapyside, you’ll find different plans so that you can choose the one that best suits your needs.

Weekly plan: 1 session per week. The plan automatically renews each week. £49
Monthly plan: 4 sessions per calendar month (divided among 4 weeks). The plan automatically renews each month. £160 (£40 per session).

How much do couples sessions cost?

If you want to start a therapy journey with your partner, we offer two plans so together you can choose the one that works best for you.

Weekly plan: 1 session per week. The plan automatically renews each week. £59
Monthly plan: 4 sessions per calendar month (divided among 4 weeks). The plan automatically renews each month. £200 (£50 per session)

You can pay by card. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Is therapy done through chat or video call?

Our sessions are always 50-minute video calls. We’re aware that because of our name, there are people who think that the therapy journey happens just over chat. However, you’ll see that the chat is a tool we use for just one particular purpose: the chat we provide for you will let you manage your appointments with your therapist.

How will I keep in touch with my therapist?

There will be a chat for you that will let you talk to your therapist about anything you need regarding the management of your sessions – for example, scheduling your next appointments or letting your therapist know there’s been a change in your availability. Every provider has their own operating hours, which means you may not get a response right away.

Additionally, therapy sessions are held through live video sessions. When the scheduled day and time arrive, your therapist will be the one who initiates the video session. Be on the lookout!

Can I set my session schedule?

Yes. We adapt to you and your needs, which means that you’ll be able to choose your session dates and times. All you need to do is talk with your therapist to find times when you are both available and can do therapy.

In the event that your schedules are incompatible, you can always request a change of provider to find one who better suits your needs.

Can I change or cancel a session?

Yes. If for any reason you can’t participate in a scheduled session, you can talk with your therapist to cancel or reschedule the appointment.

I’m going on vacation for a few weeks. Can I pause my plan?

Of course! If you go on vacation or there is any other reason you won’t be able to make it to your sessions, you can ask your therapist to pause your subscription. This lets you postpone your appointments, so that you don’t lose them without getting to use them. It will also stop your plan from renewing before it ends, because your plan will be extended by the length of time you choose.

When your therapist pauses your subscription, you’ll receive a notification in the chat telling you your plan’s new renewal date.

What sort of therapists am I going to find at Therapyside?

At Therapyside, you’ll always have a specialised therapist by your side who will accompany, guide and advise you. We want you to know that all the therapists you’ll find on Therapyside go through a verification process, so you can have every assurance that the psychological support you receive is high-quality. All the therapists have received training in various areas and are accredited by professional psychology organizations. Furthermore, the therapists at Therapyside have experience in working with a wide range of people and problem areas.

Likewise, we’ll help you find the therapist who best suits your needs and your case. In order to do that, we’ll ask you to share information about your situation, preferences and availability on the form that you’ll have to fill out as the first step.

💡And if you find that you don’t wind up clicking with your therapist? No worries. If there’s any reason you don’t feel comfortable with your therapist, you can request a change.

Can I change my therapist at Therapyside?

Of course! The trusting relationship you establish with your therapist is a very important element for being able to express yourself openly and advance in your therapy. So, if for any reason you feel that the connection isn’t there, you can easily request a change of provider.

What are the technical requirements for using Therapyside?

In order to have the video sessions for your therapy journey, you’ll need the following:

A computer or smartphone with the updated Therapyside app installed.
A good internet connection (we recommend at least 20Mbps).
A webcam and working microphone.

We also recommend that you take your sessions in a calm and private environment so that you feel as comfortable as possible.

I’m a therapist. How can I use the Therapyside platform?

First of all, if you’ve decided to use Therapyside to offer therapy online, we appreciate you trusting us!

In order to get started, you’ll have to go through a verification process so that we can confirm that you meet all the requirements for the legal practice of health psychology (psicología sanitaria, as it’s called in Spanish). Once you’ve shared your information with us and we’ve been able to confirm you meet the requirements, everything will be ready for you to start using our platform, receive patients and join them on their path to improvement.

Thank you for your interest in Therapyside! If, when you provided your information on the website, you got a message from us saying your information was correctly submitted, then don’t worry!
